Being proud of what goes well is not the common way in our country. The Big Improvement Day (BID) was set up in 2008 in response to the need to highlight and advance positive developments in the Netherlands. Since then, the top of the Dutch government and the business community meets every year on the third Tuesday of January for the most positive day of the year. The Big Improvement Day is the positive counterpart of Prinsjesdag. Here, we pay attention to what goes well and how things can be improved.
We believe that new and refreshing ideas arise where people from different backgrounds are brought together. This occurs when questions are asked and when inspiration leads to Big Improvement. By making the connection between the government and the business community, BID has become a platform for innovative ideas, cross-border meetings and innovative cooperation. The basic principle of BID is that every visitor goes home at the end of the day with at least one good idea, one good contact and one good action.
During Big Improvement Day, the winners of the Haagse Vernieuwers Challenge 2019 will be announced!
