Kick-off SIR Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations & Launch SIR 2020

Do you want to know how the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations works with startups, what the “Startup way of working” entails and which startups are currently working on BZK challenges? Then come to the kick-off of the Startup in Residence program.

The event will be opened by State Secretary Knops in the Auditorium of BZK. The morning starts with pitches, an award ceremony and ends with a delicious street food lunch. On 21st May you will be introduced to the five winning startups and learn about their solutions for the ministry’s challenges in the field of Digital Inclusion, Natural Gas-free neighborhoods, Use of leasehold lands, Urgent searchers in the housing market and MyGovernment. Our state secretary, Raymond Knops, opens the kick-off and explains the opportunities in working with startups and what we as the government can learn from the “startup way of working”.

After the pitches of the winning startups and the award ceremony, we will launch the newest program: SiR 2020! In this program we work together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, LNV, the municipality of The Hague and the province of South Holland on joint challenges with a broad social impact, within and outside the government. With this we foster a solid startup ecosystem for and by the government.

Afterwards there is a nice street food lunch and a chance to talk to each other and the winning startups. Register and book!

More information
The Startup in Residence (SiR) program has been created to enable collaborations between governments and startups. Within the program, social challenges are set out for startups with the call to provide an innovative solution. The best startups work “in residence” on a demo for five months, together with officials and stakeholders. With a successful demo, the ministry can become “launching costumer” and purchase the solution.
