Faces of Impact City: a series of portraits of people that are working from The Hague towards a peaceful, fair, secure and sustainable world. Every week you get to encounter someone that is driven by passion and working hard every day to make an impact. This week: Karsten Klein, deputy mayor in The Hague:
This week we would like to share Deputy Mayor of The Hague Karsten Klein’s vision on impact:
“The large and diverse concentration of international organizations, companies, financial-, research- and governmental institutions in The Hague offer a promising opportunity for businesses and startups focused on social and technological innovations with an international impact.
To me Impactcity is where innovation, societal and international themes meet and come to fruition, this is what we call the “impact economy”. An economy that besides stimulating economic profit, focuses on creating social impact and thereby contributes in an entrepreneurial way to a better society. Impactcity makes this visible and tangible, which is enormously important to make more impact together.”
