After months of preparation, Startup in Residence The Hague has finally begun! Based on their proposals, 14 startups were selected for the 6 challenges of 2018. On Thursday June 28th we welcomed the startups to impact startup location Apollo 14 for a Deep Dive Session organised by Ideahackers. A fruitful day of workshops, and introductions activities to get to know civil servants and align their thoughts. Startup in Residence 2018 has now officially started!
Workshop ‘customer development’
The day started with a workshop ‘customer development’ where startups prepared questions for civil servants.
Meeting the civil servants
Startups and civil servants pitched their challenges and solutions and played an interactive ‘ice breaker’ game to get to know each other.
Building a problem/solution canvas
Startups and civil servants got a ‘problem/fit solution’ workshop. They filled in a canvas and presented their ideas to the group.
Last year’s startups John Bilay from Avenieuw and Dennis Roopram from Driven to Impact came shared their experiences and tips with the new startups and civil servants.
Thanks to Karin, Daria and Menno from Ideahackers for facilitating the Deep Dive and to all civil servants and startups for participating in the workshops. It was a productive and inspiring day. We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again in August!
The 14 startups will participate in a validation training from mid-August to beginning September to validate and further develop their solutions! On September 4th startups will pitch their ideas to a professional jury. The jury selects 1 winner per urban challenge. These winners will be awarded with 7.000 euro and participation in the SIR programme of 2018.
