Six startups preselected to tackle The Hague’s urban challenges

The Hague, 29 June – Six startups have been selected by the Startup in Residence jury to participate in the 2017 edition of the governmental accelerator program. They were announced at the The Hague-based Border Sessions festival.

Over the past few months, the municipality of The Hague called on startups to submit creative ideas to tackle some of the challenges the City of The Hague faces. The goal of the program is to develop innovative solutions for the city. At the same time, the program aims to give startups from The Hague and beyond the opportunity to grow as entrepreneurs.

The winners are

Six startups have been selected to participate in the 4-month training program. They will each receive 7,500 Euros to develop their prototypes. The lucky startups are: One Stop Shop, The Next Green Thing, Driven to Impact, Eventpeak, One Day The Hague, and Avenieuw.

Soon, the startups will start working on various challenges such as making roofs more sustainable, creating more buzz in the Beatrixkwartier area, creating better accessibility to Scheveningen beach, and helping home owners to make their houses more sustainable.
