Samaschool won the 2017 Workforce Innovation Award from the New York City Employment & Training Coalition for organizations who serve disadvantaged job seekers.

“We’re the first program in the country to focus on freelance gig work as a workforce development strategy,” Samaschool founder Leila Janah says. Samaschool is a spin-off of San Francisco- and The Hague-bases Samasource.
